Description

A certificate issued by NBTHK (Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai) is attached.
According to the certificate, this tsuba is made of iron.
Hammer pattern is made intentionally on both sides (=Tsuchime-ji).
The shape of this tsuba is called "Sumikiri-kaku-gata".
The hatchet (Ono) is expressed in high-relief carving (=Takabori).
The ax (Nata) is expressed in the "In-Sukashi" openwork.
The rim part is outlined in the "Uchikaeshi" method.
This tsuba is categorized as "Aizu-Shoami Tsuba".
The color of this tsuba is tasteful as it is forged very well.
Rather large tsuba.
