Description A certificate issued by NBTHK (Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai) on Oct 18 of 2007 is attached.
According to the certificate, this Fuchi & Kashira set is made of iron.
The surfaces are polished well (Migaki-ji).
The motifs are expressed in high-relief carving (Takabori), and the Iroe inlay with gold, silver, Shakudo and Suaka.
The motifs are an egret, crow and fisherman fishing alone.
There is an inscription "Masanaga(Monogram)" on the Fuchi.
The certificate proves that this set is made by Nara Masanaga.
He is famous craftsman at the middle part of the Edo period belonged to the Nara school in Edo area.
Pupil of Nara Toshinaga.
The sister of Masanaga married with Sugiura Joi, very very famous master craftsman.
Masanaga is also master craftsman.
So, this Fuchi & Kashira set is very precious one.
